Conner's Little World...

...Is about to be turned upside-down.
and the best part is he has not a clue!

here is baby at 12 weeks. I think the tech said s/he is a little more than 2 inches long from head to toesies.
That's right! We're having another baby!!! hooray.  So here are the answers to the many questions I know you are desperately dying to ask...

When are you due? I am due on Oct. 3, which if you don't feel like doing the math means I am exactly 12 weeks along.
How have you been feeling? Oh I've been ok. Definitely not as kum-by-a as with Conner but we can't all have non-symptom pregnancies all the time now can we? I was pretty tired for a little while and was really excited about Conner's new hobby of playing the guitar hero guitar along with music videos for an hour at a time so I could lay on the couch and be boring. I was really hungry for a while too. At the beginning I would eat a soggy sponge if it got in my way but as of the last few weeks the calluses on my knees from kneeling down in-front of the potty can attest to the fact that I don't really want to eat anything...ever again. But the past few days I've been feeling lots better. Just strictly morning sickness and even that's not as bad. Unfortunately Conner now thinks that spitting in the toilet is a new game. What do you do?
Are you excited? You may think this is a dumb question but you wouldn't believe how many people ask it. YES! I am super duper excited!
What are your chances of having another super exciting delivery? For those who don't know or forgot about Conner's eventful arrival feel free to take a stroll down memory lane My chances of having pre-eclampsia again are higher (about 15%) I'm still not over 40, having multiples, super obese or black so those are on my side, but on the down side at my apt today and also a week ago my blood pressure was pretty darn high which is not so good (today it was 157/95 eek! for non-knowing what normal blood pressure is people like me a little while ago, normal is 120/80) My doc says that high blood pressure this early in pregnancy is usually not pregnancy related and pre-eclampsia won't set in until the earliest 28ish weeks but we are doing some tests just to be safe. Today she prescribed me some low blood pressure meds and I have to check my BP a few times a day. My super fantastic visiting teacher drove me back to the dr's so they could take some more blood to test something, I'm not really sure. maybe my kidneys? I really need to pay more attention sometimes. Oh and then the most exciting test is I get to do a 24 hour urine sample! Jealous anyone? Basically they gave me this giant jug that I get to...fill up over 24 hours. Awesome. Oh and the best part is it has to stay in the fridge and be cold. But don't worry, I have all intentions to clear a spot and have a designated pee shelf as to not contaminate anything.
So moral of the story, nothing is super scary yet, but things aren't going as smoothly as I hoped and dreamed. Worse case scenario, I get stupid preeclampisa again, possibly earlier, and have to be on bed rest for weeks or months before my due date (like that would be possible with my little explorer I already have!) or deliver early. Best case scenario, this BP things has nothing to do with the pregnancy and will end up being nothing at all and life will go on as normal. So here's hoping and praying and crossing toes, and fingers and eyes and whatever else that my pressure will drop and I don't get the dreaded "P" word again. (and I don't mean pregnant, it's a little late for that one)

Do you want a boy or a girl? Because I have such a say in the matter...I don't really care. Well, obviousuly I CARE, but I would be soooo happy with either one. I know that I can do boys (at least to age 2) but girls have really cute clothes... We'll (hopefully) find out sometime in the middle of May.

How far apart will Conner and this lil babe be? They will be almost EXACTLY 2 1/2 years apart. Pretty darn perfect if you ask me. (I at least I think that now, ask me again in 6 months when I have a 2 1/2 year old with a new baby and we'll see if I still feel the same)

Did I cover all of the questions? If not ask me! Despite my bruised knees, spitting son, and "what if" worries, we are so excited for baby Hansen #2!!!

  7. Woot, woot, woot! I'm so excited for you guys! And thank you for the answers to all the usual questions. Now if I think of any random ones I won't feel bad I never asked the "usual." Hope things turn out better than last with the delivery, but as uneventful as last for the pregnancy. CONGRATS!

  8. Oh the dreaded P word... I know how you feel worrying about it. But the ironic thing is, worrying only makes it worse! Crazy huh? Good luck getting the relaxation you need to get that BP under control. And CONGRATULATIONS of course!! We're excited for you guys! I'll be thinking of you and crossing my fingers you can keep Baby Hansen #2 inside longer than I was able to keep my Owen in there... and by the way, I second Ashli's comment, you crack me up! I loved this post, besides the bit about the already high blood pressure. Love ya and wishing you lots of luck!!

  9. What would pregnancy be if it was boring, and uneventful!!! Don't worry after you have the baby Conner probably won't even remember the spitting in the toilet, I know this because My little Brynlee did that when I was pregnant with Kale.
It made me smirk a little remembering, so thanks for the reminder!!

OH and CONGRATS!!! Excited for ya!!
