Whatever Could it BE???

Well I sure called it! We're having a little girl! Sorry it took so long to post. I know that most of you were just waiting and waiting for a whole day to find out! (since I know everyone sits around and thinks of me always) But anyway, we're pretty darn excited!! even Rusty is!! although he's kind of scared still. He has 4 more months to get used to the idea right? Right! But I'm sure the second he sees her he'll fall in love and forget that he "doesn't know how to do girls."

Little girl was so shy (but not where it mattered, if you know what I mean! wink wink, nudge nudge) so this was the best shot we got. Guess we'll have to be like pioneers and wait until she's born to see her pretty face.
little feet. so cute!
I could for sure post more ultrasound pics, but I won't bore you since they all kind of look the same. But everything else is great as far as her health and such which is always a huge relief. Also my blood pressure has been so good when I've tracked it at home that my Doc says I can go down to only one stinky pill a day! hooray! That means half as many bugs! I am feeling great and couldn't be better! (except for maybe I would be better if I had a smidgen more energy...)
And here's the official side shot for the month. (21 weeks, {ok one day away from 21 weeks} aka 4 1/2 months) I'm pretty sure that I wasn't this big with Conner until I was AT LEAST like 6 months. ohwell.  (and sorry for the not so awesome quality pic. Conner likes to steal my camrea sometimes play with the settings and I just don't know what he did!)

All Aboard the Potty Train!! (toot toot)

So I think it's finally that time...Time to start Potty Training! I have been told that the most important thing about starting potty training is not to start until they seem really ready. Conner just wasn't interested at all...until about 2 weeks ago.

For the past 2 months or so I've been letting him explore the potty. He'd put the seat up and down, put toilet paper in it, and we'd even put his solid enough poop from his diapers in it and let him flush it away (as he waved goodbye to it. so cute) But he wouldn't sit on it for the life of him (I'm sure he just though it would eat him up. I can't really blame him) But the past few weeks he's been going through his naked stage. At first I just couldn't keep clothes on him, but then he figured out how to take his diaper off. oh no! so he'd run around completely naked for a little bit until one day he peed on the wall. I think it scared him so much and after that he's been much drier in the mornings and now when he takes his diaper off he says "poot" and wants to sit on the big potty! (not that he ever goes, but we sit on in for about 4 seconds) He even came up to me about a week ago and said "tinky bum" and waved his hand back and forth by his bum. haha! and sure enough it was dirty. So I let him pick from 3 potties on-line and he picked the Ducky Potty! It came over the weekend so we officially started today!

Every child has to have this blackmail pic of them. So here's his.

He's a blinker!
Exploring his new potty.

Yay. So excited! wish us luck!!
Maybe it was just beginners luck but this morning he sat on the potty (and he sat for probably 2 minutes. I think that might just be a world record of sitting still for him) and he got a little out!!! I think it did scare him a little bit so we did a little dance and high fives and fist bumps and it got him so excited!

For all you moms, or anyone in general, who know about potty training what worked, or didn't work, for you? I'll take all the advice and ideas anyone will give!!

My Bump is Almost to the HUMP!

Guys, do you realize that I am one week and 2 days away from being Half Way Done with this pregnancy! What the heck! It has totally flown by so much faster than with Conner. Weird. Anyway, I figured that I'd update on how the pregnancy has been going since the big announcement.
A very much anticipated picture of growing me. I feel like I'm way bigger in this pic than I am in real life, and no, I'm not just fishing for people to say "Oh my gosh your not big at all!" blah-dy blah, I'm just saying that in this case the camera really did add 10 lbs of baby to me. But then again maybe I'm just unaware that all of my mirrors are those crazy vanity fun house mirrors and have been lied to for years.

Anyway, other than looking bigger than I think I am, everything is going pretty well. I'm on medication for my BP that I have to take morning and night. I don't really like it because it makes me feel suuuper icky. (tired, dizzy, congested, feeling like bugs are crawling on my scalp, things like that) But it's not as bad as when I first started taking it so maybe it will continue to get better. I told my doc at my last apt and she said that aside from the bug thing (which unfortunately can be a side affect of the meds) many of my symptoms are also just symptoms of being pregnant. So it's probably a mix of the two.

But it seems to be helping a lot. I monitor my BP 2-3 times a day and it is consistently very low (average of 110/65. remember 120/80 is normal and it WAS 150something/95!) But still every time I go to the docs office it's high. I think they just scare me there or something. They're pretty frightening people those nurses, let me tell ya.

In other news, last weekend Rusty took me shopping for an early Mother's Day present of a new maternity wardrobe since I am getting hugely maternal right now. hooray! Since I was preggo with Conner for most of the winter I didn't really want to have only long sleeves and pants to choose from this summer.
I was able to add to my M wardrobe 4 new tops, a pair of Capri's where the waist band  goes to my boobs and my favorite find of the day were these stretchy pajama jeans knock off skinny jeans! ya'll know how I love my skinny jeans!! (even though when I was 12 I swore to my mom that I would never wear any pants that went little at the bottom. EVER! Guess that's why you never say never) They are all so comfy comfy that I want to wear them for-ev-or.
What else? Oh, morning sickness is pretty much gonzo. There are a few mornings that I'm still an itty bitty bit sick but nothing too bad. Conner still likes to spit in the toilet though and now thinks you have to put your hands on the back of your neck when doing so (because I hold my hair back) which is pretty silly.

We have the BIG ULTRASOUND set for May 21 (that's in exactly 2 weeks!! You can submit your guesses now. I'm kinda feeling girl, but who the heck knows?)  Rusty's pretty darn terrified if it's a girl. So thanks to all of you who have told him that girls are SOOOO much harder and way more emotional, even as babies, than boys. You have officially freaked him out.

This past week I have also started to feel the first ninja moves of this little one, which I have to admit is my very most favorite part about being pregnant. They're still really faint but I can start to tell when it's really the baby and it's amazing!! It makes all the bugs crawling on my head totally worth it!

Well I was going to write more but Conner just came in and wants to help, which is no help at all, so I think that's my cue to wrap things up!

The Party of the Century

Since Conner turned the big 0-2 about a month ago and I turned the big 2-6 two weeks later we decided that a party was WAY past due. So we gathered together family and some close friends and party hardied last Friday night (and it even took me less than a week to blog about it. hooray! speaking of blogging good, I must say that I have done pretty darn awesome this last month, thank you very much) Anyway, so we had a sort of combined party but let's be honest it was mostly a Conner party. Unfortunately, even for people like me who think their birthday's should probably just be a national holiday because they're so awesome, when you become a mom, or even just old for that matter, you just don't get birthday's anymore. But Conner had a BLAST so it was all worth it! Although I DID get a present from my parents; a really big super tall ladder so I can change my smoke detector batteries if they ever decide to suck again! Thanks so much!!!!!
After a yummy meal of hamburgers and all the trimmin's (which I didn't get any  photo doc of because I forgot that the camera had been invented until now) what do you do at a 2 year old's b-day party? Play a rousing game of duck duck goose of course! Conner just ran around the circle the whole time whether it was his turn or not. But it's his party so he can run if he want's to!

Conner got not one, but TWO guitars (one from each set of grandparents) which he loved! He spent pretty much the rest of the party rocking out (except when we had to pry it away from him so we could sing and blow out candles)

All of the kids even started a band with all of the new instruments complete with two guitar players, a front man singer and a back-up dancer.

Conner's cup cake cake

Sorry bout the weird face I'm making but apparently I make weird faces when I sing.

yay he blew them out! He was suuuuper confused about the whole thing so I finally said "it's hot, blow on it!" so he  blew like it was his hot food and it did the trick!!

mmmmmmm
Conner's (and sort of my) party was lots and lots of fun. Conner partied so hard and was so worn out that he didn't wake up until 10:00 the next morning. I call that a success!
